Same platform, same team, same rewards, same accounts. What has changed is the name, the address, everything now lives at terrademia.com, and the product itself, which has been rebuilt end to end.
Before we introduce you to our rebrand, the reassurance: nothing about your account is affected. Same login, same course history, same wallet, same pending and paid rewards. Every old link and bookmark still works, because the old domain and all of its pages redirect permanently to their new equivalents.
For a while you will continue to see previously greenambassadorchallenge across our site and socials. It is there on purpose, so that anyone arriving from an old link knows straight away that they are in the right place.
What Terrademia means
Terra is Latin for the earth: the ground, the land and everything on it, the thing all of this is about. Academia is the place where learning happens. Terrademia is the two joined together, a school for the world.
We wanted a name that says what the platform actually is, and the old one never quite did. Our platform is not a one-off campaign with a start date and a finish line. It is a place you come back to: a catalogue that keeps growing, courses you work through at your own pace, and a record of what you have learned and earned.
A name ending in -ademia also sets an expectation. An academy is a place with standards: a curriculum, sources, an exam at the end, and an obligation to be right. That is a demanding thing to name yourself after. It is also the standard we want to be held to.
Why we outgrew the old name
“Challenge” described a campaign, not a school. When the platform started, that was a fair description. What exists now is a catalogue of structured, multi-lesson courses with curricula, learning outcomes, references and quizzes. The vocabulary across the whole site has moved with it: what we used to call challenges are called courses everywhere now, because that is what they are.
“Green Ambassador” described a role we never actually forced you to play. We are not recruiting advocates. We are teaching a subject. Our first principle is that understanding comes before behaviour, and what you decide to do with what you learn is your own informed decision and not something we want to enforce or monitor.
And it was a mouthful. Long to say, awkward to type, easy to get slightly wrong, and not available as a clean, ownable brand.
What the name has to live up to
Our mission is to make sustainability knowledge accessible to everyone, by making it engaging to learn and worth trusting.
Three ideas sit underneath that, set out in full in our introduction.
- Understanding comes before behaviour. Most sustainability communication skips straight to the instruction: recycle this, avoid that, offset the other. It rarely changes much, because an instruction you do not understand is one you drop the moment it becomes inconvenient. Our courses teach the mechanism, the trade-offs and the real scale of an impact. Where an action is small, the course says it is small.
- Trust has to be earned, claim by claim. Every evidence-based claim carries a reference linking to the original study, regulation or dataset. Where the evidence is genuinely mixed, we say so instead of picking the convenient side. And every course is required to argue against itself: each one contains a section examining the strongest criticism of its own central claim.
- Learning should be worth your time. Courses take 10 to 30 minutes, end in a short exam, and pay a real reward when you pass. The reward is not the point of the lesson. It is what gets people through the door of a subject they would otherwise scroll past.
The old name promised enthusiasm. The new one promises rigour, which is the harder thing to promise, so we have published the receipt: our editorial policy now sets out in public exactly what a course has to do before it goes live.
What is new on the platform
A redesigned site, end to end
The homepage is new, with course search, live platform stats and browse-by-goal tiles. Course pages have been rebuilt around a full-bleed hero, sticky section navigation, an expandable curriculum that shows what each lesson asks of you (read, watch, do, view), learning outcomes, a progress rail, an FAQ, and a mobile action bar so the next step is always one tap away.
Your account dashboard has been rebuilt too. It opens with where you left off, followed by your in-progress and saved courses and a table of everything you have completed and earned. There is also a boosts panel that finally makes reward multipliers legible: what you have unlocked, what you have not, and how close you are to the next one.
Finding the right course
The course listing now has sidebar filters. Filter by Global Goal, difficulty, duration and featured status, and, when you are signed in, by your own progress, with live result counts on every filter so you can see what a choice will do before you make it. As the number of courses continues to expand, we have build a full-text search allowing you to search for that exact course on a specific subject.
Ratings, reviews and bookmarks
If you have completed a course and been rewarded for it, you can rate it from one to five stars and leave a written review. One rating per person per course. An average only appears on a course once at least ten people have rated it, so a single early opinion cannot define a course, and written reviews are approved before they appear. We invite anyone to leave ratings, since this will help others find great content, as well as help us identify what works, and what doesnt.
Any course can be bookmarked from its hero and picked up later from your account page.
The Global Goals
Every course is mapped to one of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, along with up to three secondary goals. The new Global Goals page explains all 17 and shows which courses cover them, and each course page now carries an Impact section listing the specific targets that course contributes to, in the UN’s own wording.
Evidence, in public
The editorial policy covers numbered citations, how contested evidence is handled, the mandatory counter-argument section, the extra scrutiny we apply to offsets, recyclability and “biodegradable” claims, how corrections are made, and what sponsorship can and cannot buy.
It also states plainly that our courses are AI-assisted in drafting and reviewed by editors against that policy before publication. Nothing goes live unreviewed. We would rather tell you that than leave you to wonder. Course pages now also open with up to three hook figures — headline statistics, each with a source you can follow.
Knowledge Partners
Organisations can now sponsor a course through the Knowledge Partners program. Sponsors get attribution on the course they support. They do not write lessons, set quiz questions or influence rewards, and the editorial policy says so publicly, so you can hold us to it.
What has not changed
- It is still completely free. No signup fee, no course fee, and no fee to receive a reward.
- It is still funded by VeBetterDAO The platform receives a share of the weekly B3TR emissions based on community allocation votes, and splits it roughly 75% to user rewards and 25% to development, content and operations.
- Rewards are still paid in B3TR on VeChain, recorded on-chain.
- The same wallet options. Either a managed wallet that we set up and run for you, including staking and voting on your behalf, or your own self-hosted wallet such as VeWorld, which unlocks additional on-chain multipliers.
- The same mechanics. Pass the quiz above 70% to earn, unlimited free retries if you do not pass, one reward per course, a 24-hour cooldown between rewarded courses, and payout roughly seven days after you finish.
Where to start
If you have been here before, sign in and open your account page. Everything is where you left it, and the boosts panel is worth a look, most people are closer to a higher reward factor than they realise.
If you are new, skip the explanations and pick a course. Twenty minutes and a quiz is the whole commitment. If you would rather read first, the introduction explains how the platform works and the FAQ answers most of what comes up.
Same platform. Same rewards. And now, a name that finally describes it.
