Setting Up Your Wallet
A wallet is where your B3TR token rewards are stored. Think of it as a digital bank account for your earnings on the platform. You need to connect a wallet to your account on the Green Ambassador Challenge before rewards can be paid out.
Wallet types
The Green Ambassador Challenge supports two types of wallets. Each has different trade-offs:
| Feature | Managed Wallet | Self-Hosted Wallet |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | Created automatically by the platform | You create it yourself using VeWorld |
| Control | Platform manages the keys for you | You hold your own private keys |
| Withdraw | Withdraw rewards at any time | Rewards sent directly to your external wallet |
| Staking | Automated | Manual |
| Reward Multipliers | Depending on platform activity | Depending on VeChain ecosystem activity |
| Best for | Beginners who want simplicity | Experienced users active in the VeChain an VeBetter ecosystem |
Managed wallet
A managed wallet is the simplest option. The platform creates and secures a wallet on your behalf. Your rewards are deposited into this wallet automatically, and you can withdraw your B3TR at any time.
With a managed wallet, your rewards can also be auto-staked, which means they are put to work supporting the platform while you earn.
Self-hosted wallet
A self-hosted wallet is one you create and control yourself using a wallet app like VeWorld. You provide your wallet address (starting with 0x) to the platform, and rewards are sent directly to that address.
Self-hosted wallets unlock additional reward multipliers based on your on-chain activity, such as holding VET, owning NFTs, or voting on VeBetterDAO.
Setting up VeWorld (for self-hosted wallets)
VeWorld is the official wallet from the VeChain Foundation. It's available on mobile (iOS and Android) and as a browser extension.
Step 1: Download VeWorld
Visit veworld.com and download VeWorld for your device.
Step 2: Create your wallet
Open VeWorld and follow the setup procedure. During setup, you'll be given a 12-word backup phrase (also called a seed phrase or recovery phrase).
Write down your 12-word backup phrase and store it somewhere safe offline. This phrase is the only way to recover your wallet if you lose access to your device. Never share it with anyone. If someone asks for your backup phrase, it is a scam.
Step 3: Copy your wallet address
Once your wallet is created, you'll see your wallet address. It starts with 0x followed by a long string of letters and numbers. Copy this address.
Step 4: Connect to the Green Ambassador Challenge
- Log in to your account on the Green Ambassador Challenge
- Navigate to the wallet section on your account page
- Paste your VeWorld wallet address
- Save your changes
Your rewards will now be sent to this address after each challenge you complete.
If you're not sure which wallet type to choose, start with a managed wallet.
